To survive the world of The Walking Dead: Empires you’ll need more than just your wits. You’ll need the best tools that you can get your hands on to defend against the Walker threat and rebuild your piece of the broken world. To survive and thrive in this environment, you’ll need to craft your own solutions to protect everything precious to you.

We’ve temporarily ended the first Dead Claim sale in the Gala Games store. Don’t worry. You’ll still have more opportunities at owning TWDE land later. As our friends at Ember Entertainment work hard at bringing the world of AMC’s The Walking Dead to life, we’re ready to unveil a new key resource in your struggle to tame the Walker-infested world of The Walking Dead: Empires.

Craft. Outfit. Supply. SURVIVE!

We’ve already seen some details on how land ownership will work in TWDE and today we’re going to take a closer look at some of the crafting stations that enable the survivors to live and thrive across this destroyed land.

In The Walking Dead: Empires, you’ll be able to create and fabricate a variety of useful tools and supplies at different types of crafting stations. While you can craft basic essentials without these designated workspaces, to have the best chance of surviving the world of AMC’s The Walking Dead, you’ll need the best equipment that you can get your hands on– before a Walker gets its hands on you.

There are 6 distinct types of crafting stations in The Walking Dead: Empires, each with its own variety of useful equipment and tools that can be created from resources you acquire throughout Georgia:

  • Arsenal- This workbench has everything that a gunsmith or bowsmith needs to take raw materials and turn them into Walker-stopping firepower.
  • Forge- When things get up close and personal with the Walkers, the Forge is where you create the melee weapons that keep you alive and in one piece.
  • Cookery- In the natural fight for survival, those who can’t stay fed eventually end up as food. At the cookery, you can whip up meals that keep you strong enough for the challenges of the brutal world that you’ll face outside.
  • Lab- The world of AMC’s The Walking Dead is a dangerous place. At the Lab, you can mix up the medicines and compounds that you’ll need to keep you and those you care about safe and healthy.
  • Outfitter- You’ve got to keep yourself protected out there. The Outfitter lets you create clothes and armor to ensure that you’re not easy pickings for an enemy.
  • Smithy- This world won’t fix itself. At the Smithy you can craft the tools that you need to fortify, defend, and create a life of relative safety in the harsh landscape of the apocalypse.

Owning Your Survival

Each type of crafting station is a player-owned NFT that may be placed on land owned by any player. Owning a crafting station yourself not only gives you the ability to craft what you need to survive, but also allows you to gain rewards whenever other players utilize it. If you missed out on owning a piece of Georgia during our first Dead Claim sale, don’t worry– you can place crafting stations on any land with the owners’ permission. Anytime someone uses the crafting station, both the station owner and the landowner will receive rewards and mutually benefit.

Each crafting station will be released in varying rarities, and each rarity will enable the creation of higher quality supplies. Higher quality gear can often offer advantages like abilities and effects– as well as just being more durable and effective. This means that higher rarity crafting stations will be in high demand, and could be a serious asset to have around as you fortify your home base. You’ll be able to piece together the most basic basic gear without a crafting station, but the quality of these rudimentary tools and equipment will be far lower than more sophisticated versions.

The Forge

This crafting station will be one of the first available in The Walking Dead: Empires, and will drop into the Gala Games store tomorrow, February 24th. In a world where the enemy onslaught is seemingly ceaseless, the importance of being able to defend yourself cannot be understated. Ammo will not last forever, and here you can craft the finest weapons to slam, slice, and stab anyone — or anything — that would threaten you.

At the Forge you can create a wide variety of deadly armaments. The higher the rarity of your Forge, the better chance there is to create better weapons. While a sword may look functionally the same when it comes to fighting off Walkers, a higher grade sword could have a wide variety of added abilities and bonuses. This means you can customize the best weapons to your particular survival style, and the most unique combinations of abilities will create some of the most desireable equipment in the game.

The Lab

Mad scientists rejoice! It’s your time to shine. The Lab will also be available in our first crafting station sale tomorrow. The world of The Walking Dead is a harsh landscape, and to survive this land and the Walkers that stalk through it, you’ll need access to plenty of medical supplies. Whether it’s to simply dress a wound or prevent a deadly infection, medicine and medical equipment is a must if you are going to survive.

The Lab will allow you to create basic first aid supplies like bandages and tourniquets, and also more complex compounds and medicines to help protect you from any ailments and injuries that the apocalypse throws at you. Higher quality medicines are more effective, and will result in more potent restorative properties and occasionally unique bonuses to your overall health and wellness. Every player in the game will be after the highest rarity labs they can get their hands on for better medicines and a better chance at surviving the world of AMC’s The Walking Dead.

Lab and Forge Sale

The Walking Dead: Empires will bring you face-to-face with endless threats: Walkers eager to tear apart your flesh and other humans vying for the world’s few remaining resources. Tomorrow’s sale represents your first chance to be ready to make what you need to survive, and fortify against all the threats that The Walking Dead has in store for you.

The Tools of Survival

We’ll have more details coming before the first Forges and Labs arrive. As with any survival game, the ability to get your hands on tools, equipment, and supplies will be absolutely crucial for anyone wishing to thrive in this harsh new world.

Owning a Lab or Forge in TWDE not only gives you access to the means of production yourself, but also rewards you any time another player uses your crafting station. You can place your tables on any owned land. Use them to attract traffic to your stronghold, or deploy them where plenty of players will need their services.

We’re extremely excited for what’s coming up as Ember Entertainment crafts the perfect survival experience in the world of AMC’s The Walking Dead. Tomorrow’s sale is just the start of the rollout of crafting stations, and more information will be coming soon about sales for The Outfitter, Cookery, Arsenal, and Smithy.
